A PARTY of Road Haulage Association Western District members have paid a visit to Westminster to discuss with MPs some of the problems facing road hauliers in the hire or reward sector.
The 19-strong delegation, headed by Roger Cullimore, a past chairman of the former Western Area, met backbench MPs from West Country constituencies.
Topics discussed included the Budget increases and road problems in the West Country including the campaign to have a second Severn Bridge built to carry the growing traffic.
The hauliers also pointed out that although lorries were prohibited from using the outer lane of motorways there were no figures available to show the comparison of road wear between the outer lane and the other two lanes.
