ANTRAK FREIGHT of Cutler Street, East London, has been appointed UK general agent for Hellas Ferries, of Piraeus, which operates a roll-on/roll-6ff service between Volos in Greece and Tartous in Syria.
Its main traffic consists of driver-accompanied TIR vehicles en route for Middle East destinations, but other cargo regularly carried includes export vehicles.
The Volos-Tartous route bypasses Turkey, so reducing considerably the road mileage for Middle-East bound vehicles. To assist drivers, a team of Syrian agents and translators sails with every vessel.
