Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AN INSURANCE policy based on mileage is being offered to members of the Road Haulage Association and the Freight Transport Association.

The policy, drawn up towards the end of 1981 by underwriter General Accident and national broker Hogg Robinson, is based on tachograph mileage. Premiums will be accurately linked to vehicle usage, and vehicles that are not used can get a premium refund.

The policy is now available from insurance brokers throughout Britain, and further information is available from General Accident branches.

The RHA, which launched its own Roadway insurance service in January, stressed that the mileage policy was no longer approved by the RHA as it was in direct competition with its own policy.

"The only official policy is our own one. Any other one is not recognised by us," an RHA spokesman told CM.

The RHA is currently talking to former accredited brokers to interest them in selling the RHA policy.
