In 1969 the total dividend was 17-1 per cent. Among its many diversified divisions, Grampian controls a large section of transport and plant hire in central Scotland which includes Malcolm's of Brookfield and John Hutchison and Son, Dunfermline. The transport division showed a profit of £527,194, an increase of almost £21,000 over last year. The poor return for the holding company is said to have been caused through bad trading figures of its construction division.
