THE Metropolitan Licensing Authority, Mr. D. 1. R. Muir, has refused to renew the Contract A licence of Adjuvil Ltd. to carry for Shepperton Studios (The ',..:orrtinercial Motor, April 9). In his written decision, the LA did not fully Accept Mr. Balne's argument that " if the iirer was at all engaged in arranging for .ransport he could not properly be the siring party to a Contract A arrange/tent ". Mr, Muir considered that the .est must be whether " the arranging for he carrying of goods is a significant part If the business of the hiring party ".
To enable Adjuvil Ltd. to carry out its :ommitments the LA urged the company o apply for a short-term B licence until he application for a full-term B was Jetermined.
