last week, Mr. Stephen Swingler, Joint Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Transport, said that plans. schemes, statistics and surveys was the daily fare for most of the people concerned in government. it was part of the job. But facts and figures were meaningless in themselves—what mattered was the end product. That was why it was a pleasure for him "to see what was a blueprint translated into the reality of this fine new road ".
Public Inquiry on Lanes-Yorks Motorway: A public inquiry into the draft scheme to fix the line of the Lancashire-Yorkshire motorway (M62) in the West Riding of Yorkshire from Outlane, on the outskirts of Huddersfield. to Lofthouse, between Leeds and Wakefield, will start on May 25 at 10 a.m. The inquiry will take place in the Council Chamber at County Hall, Wakefield.
