SPECIAL-PURPOSE Vuhicles of the type which straddle And lift their loads are now permitted to travel on the roads, subject to the following conditions: They be so used only for the purpose of transporting their toads or in passing from one works to other premises in the immediate neighbourhood; they do not draw a trailer; do not exceed 12 m.p.h.; the maximum overall length, including load, must not exceed 30 ft, except with the concurrence of the Chief of Police of the district.
This revision of Regulation 33 of the Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations, 1947 (a), is contained in "The Motor Vehicles (Authorization of Special Types) Order, 1948.
