TO promote export trade, Northern Coachbuilders, Ltd., Newcastle-onTyne, is offering N.C.B. electric chassis and bodies completely " knocked down," to countries where the La rift rates and shipping charges make this advantageous. All parts are numbered and clearly stamped, and no trouble should be experienced in assembly.
The following are the reduced prices to allow for labour costs of assembly:-12-cwt. model: Chassis, without battery, £326; general-purpose van body, £107; charger £72. 1-ton model: Chassis, without battery, £346; hodies:—dairy truck, £89; lorry-type, £84; bakery van, £115, and oversize van, £130. Charger for the 1-ton model costs £88.
For full-length cab doors there is an extra Charge of £11 per pair, and for half-length doors £6 per pair.
The foregoing prices are all f.o.b in British port, but do not include crating, the approximate cost of which is as follows:—For 10 chassis, £12 each, and for 10 bodies, £7 10s. each. The shipment packing for the chargers costs approximately £6 each, subject to a reduction for quantities.
FORD MAKES EXPORT RECORDS
IN addition to 2,227 tractors, the Ford Motor Co., Ltd., exported, during March, 4,851 cars and 1,354 commercial vehicles, which is said to be a record for the industry. Since VE Day, over 80,000 Fordson Major tractors have been produced at Dagenham, and of these about 70 per cent, have been placed on British farms.
In the export market, Fordsort Major tractors have contributed over €8,500,000 in foreign currency since the end of the war.
