THE MOTOR Industry Research Association (MIRA) is to provide design consultancy in China.
It is for the construction of a vehicle proving ground at Xiangfan in the province of Hubei for the Second Automobile Works (SAW).
The contract, due for completion in December 1985 and signed by Li Yinhuan, senior engineer and vice-director of SAW and Dr Cedric Ashley, the director of MIRA, is believed to the first of its kind between China and a western nation.
Both parties expressed a wish for longer collaboration.
