West divisional manager has joined Midland Red's headquarters staff as company staff officer designate. He has been replaced in South West by Barry Connor, Charles Elphick moves from Southdown Motor Services to become assistant secretary/ accountant at National Travel on September 25. His predecessor, John Jackson, has been promoted to management services accountant.
John Underhill now heads NBC's insurance department as risk and insurance manager.
Tricentrol Travel Group Ltd's new licensing officer, Ian Webber, came to the company in August from National Travel (South Wales) Ltd where he was also licensing officer.
Renault Ltd has a new managing director in the person of Alain de Saint-Victor. He comes to Britain from Sweden, where he headed Renault's subsidiary company for three years.
Anchor Euro Transport Ltd has appointed Carl Bradley manager of its receiving depot and office in Manchester.
W. Lijmer, the new president of Belgian coach manufacturers Autobusfabriek BOVA BV, has taken over from M. Hey who held the position for almost 25 years. Mr Lijmer was previously international director of sales and marketing at DAF-Trucks in Eindhoven.
Components supplier, Intertruck Ltd, has appointed three new board members to coincide with its 40 per cent growth last year. Douglas Eaton has been promoted to sales and marketing director from marketing manager; Michael Colyer is now operations director and Richard Derry is the new buying director.
The Confederation of British Road Transport's new assistant secretary, Michael Reading, has taken over from David Cohen, who has left the transport industry. Former Beck and Pollitzer man, Alan Hudson, has joined Pickford's Heavy Haulage at its National Exhibition Centre office. He will work on lifting contracts for exhibitions in Birmingham and London.
George Redican, formerly sales manager of Jonas Woodhead Ltd's RSR section, has been promoted to marketing manager and executive director for both home and overseas. Ron Brewer is now national sales manager. He has been closely involved with National contracts in his previous position as national accounts manager and will continue to carry out this role along with his new responsibilities.
Obituary
We record with regret the death of Ian Kydd, Scottish Omnibuses Ltd (Eastern Scottish) general manager from 1970 until his premature retirement at the end of last month. A London-born engineer, Mr Kydd was with Eastern National before moving to Scotland.
