Acquired nearly five years ago by the Butterley .Group, the 14 Lincolnshire firms comprising 45-vehicle Lincolnshire Traffics Ltd, ended their life as separate companies at mid-night on September 9 when they were merged to form Butterley Quarries Ltd. Object is an improved service.
NOTTINGHAM TRANSPORT
City of Nottingham Transport Committee reported just week that its complete abandoning of troneybuses—operated from 1927—had brought greater efficiency. Income for the year ended March 31 was £2.614.087 1L50,172 more than 1 965-661 and net surplus was £77.146 (£67,9 21 less). Passengers carried: 100.206.000: mileage 11.670.000.
MATBRO GROUP
The formation of another company is announced by Matbro Group chairman L. S. Mathew. Mathro South Africa (Pty) Ltd. registered in Johannesburg to market the whole Matbro range of earthmoving and mechanical handling equipment in Southern Africa. Part of the range may soon be manufactured in South Africa.
ALBRIGHT and WILSON
Bush Boake Allen's industrial chemical division, which deals principally with plasticizers. is being transferred toAlbright and Wilson Ltd. (Manufacturing( on September 25. Bush Boake Allen's industrial chemical sales and marketing staff will be at 1 Knightsbridge Green. London. SW1. and operate as the A andW plastics chemicals department. A and W Manufacturing will thus be able to consolidate and expand the firms plastics chemicals field interests and Bush Boake Allen will concentrate on its major interests.
BP CHEMICALS
British Hydrocarbon Chemicals Ltd.. which BP took over on March 31, disappears as a company from October 1 when its assets and operations will be merged with those of BP Chemicals (UK) Ltd. .
