BRUCE BARRIE, a director of John Barrie (Contractor) Ltd., Glasgow, tells me that some queue-jumping is allowed at the Glasgow docks—depending on the type of export traffic.
"For instance," he says, "when one of our vehicles carries a load that is half whisky and half Bibles, the bonded spirit receives priority and the vehicle moves to the head of the queue to discharge it. Then it must go back to the end of the queue—and wait to discharge the bound `spirit'."
