LEP TRANSPORT LTD. (220 Londonbased vehicles), Ralph Hilton Transport Ltd., and J. Sainsbury Ltd. (361 vehicles) are to occupy neighbouring sites on a 26-acre area at Charlton vacated by United Glass Works. Hilton is to centralize its various London warehouse and transport depots on 5.2 acres; Lep is opening a new warehouse and transport depot on 2.85 acres; and Sainsbury is developing 14.7 acres as a distribution depot with extensive cold storage facilities. Cost of these areas is estimated at £3/4m. The sites are adjacent to the A2 and River Thames.
