Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE user of a heavy petrol or steam wagon does not always buy it witalt the intention of employing it in conjunction with trailers, but possibly through the extension of business resulting from the nee of the vehicle, he May, later on, wish to employ this supplementary means of transport, he which case it is essential that his vehicle be suitably equipped for the work.

• Apart from the actual purchasing of the trailer or trailers, some suitable device must be fitted to the wagon to operate the brake on the trailer. Many such devices as fitted look too much the result of an afterthought and, consequently, one which is equally effective on steam or petrol vehicles, and which cannot only be provided for attachment to a particular vehicle, but can be transferred with the greatest of ease to other vehicles of a fleet, should find a ready demand.

We allude in particular to the Easyon trailer brake, which has been designed for the needs we have set out, by R. A. c26

Dyson and Co., Ltd., 76-SO, Grafton Street, Liverpool, S.

The device is almost the acme of simplicity. It •is strongly built, and there is practically nothing to get out of order. It consists of, length of u rolled-steel channel equipped with crosspieces drilled for wood screws and mounted vertically. In the channel is carried, in suitable bearings, a stout screw with a square thread with a control wheel at the top, whilst on the screw is carried a nut in a housing which forms a means far securing the end of the brake-operating cable and also slides up and down against the inner face of the channel.

The brake control includes 24 ft. of cable ready for fixing, and is priced at' £5 5s. It will be fitted free at the works of the company, or will he sent carriage paid. Ease of operation is ensured by passing the cable round a milky mounted at the 'bottom of the screw, the channel being split at this point to permit the cable to pass through it.
