Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

III More than 400 jobs will be lost as a result of 130C Distribution Services' failure to dispose of its business as a going concern.

Forty-three jobs will go at the company's Airdrie depot which will close on or before 24 November. Depots at Bristol and Harlow will also close, but the Warrington depot has been bought by nationwide company Blakes Distribution. Blakes is currently in discussions to determine how many of the 142 jobs will be left at the site.

In August BOC Distribution Services announced that it was putting all its non-Marks & Spencer and Asda distrib ution work up for sale, complaining that difficult trading conditions meant it was not making any money.

At the time BOC said it hoped its staff would transfer over as other operators took over the contracts. But other hauliers have been reluctant to take over the loss-making contracts—particularly with supermarket chain Sainsbury's.
