Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• There is a truck stop on the approach to each terminal — one at Ashford and the other at Marck in France — which will be open in time for the Chunnel. They will have television screens giving crossing details. Drivers will also be able to pick up crossing news on a radio station which will be run by Eurotunnel.

• Drivers will enter the Folkestone and Calais terminals from the UK and French motorway network.

• Follow signs to freight-only toll booths, which will accept Le Shuttle account, fuel and credit cards as well as cash and cheques.

• Go to the departure terminal where British and French frontier controls are completed, allowing a free exit directly on to the motorway on arrival at the other end.

• Go to the loading areas where staff will be on hand to direct vehicles into position to wait to load. There are two loading and two unloading bays on each shuttle.

• Load on to a shuttle (28 trucks can be loaded within 12 minutes says Eurotunnel) which will have power supplies for reefers. Put handbrake on, turn engine off and engage manual chock to stop truck rolling.

• After setting tachograph to "rest" leave the truck via raised side paths and head to the drivers' club car at the front of the shuttle. Refreshments will be served during the 28 minutes in the Chunnel and a TV screen will give journey details.

• On arrival at Calais return to the truck and drive directly on to motorway.
