Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Brick manufacturer Ibstock Johnsen is planning to increase the ratio of owner-driver brick deliveries to client collections in a bid to boost sales.

The company is considering increasing the ratio from 50:50 to 60:40 in favour of its ownerdrivers by dropping the price of delivered bricks. Sales are currently at rock bottom with stockpiles equivalent to six months supply. Ibstock has 50 liveried vehicles operated by owner-drivers and small hauliers. The company says an increase in company deliveries would give the ownerdrivers more work.

But Ibstock is also looking at rationalisation plans: "The next three months will be crucial," it says. Two small plants have already closed but the company denies that three further plants are at immediate risk.
