• NEE-FP displays is introducing its Telespot Trailer Sign into this country in the hope that it will prove of interest to police forces, public utilities and road maintenance crews.

The new sign is in use in tht.. USA and consists of a trailermounted light-reflecting electromagnetic display which can be programmed to display whatever information is required.

STOCK CONTROL

• Cranfield College of Manufacturing has released details of its residential training programme in Stock Control.

The one-week course has been designed to give companies up-to-date training in the latest concepts and developments in stock control and delegates will be encouraged to bring a sample of their own company's data to enable a quantitative evaluation to be undertaken during the course. The programme costs £900.

HOSE

• A heavy duty tanker hose has been launched by BTR Silvertown, from Burton on Trent. It is capable of handling all chemicals normally trans ported by road, and BTR claims it will not kink or abrade. BTR offers the hose in lengths of up to 6m, with operational pressure ratings up to 150 psi and temperatures from —20°C to +150°C.

ROUTE PLANNING

• WhichWay is a new route planning and costing computer program launched this week at the Transport and Distribution Services show by Londonbased Kingswood.

The new WhichWay system operates on the IBM PC and compatible machines and presents a colour map on the VDU.

Kingswood claims WhichWay will produce a route in a few seconds using a network of 22,000 road sections and 14,000 junctions. The system displays the route on screen and gives information for onthe-spot route planning and costing.
