nw GETS CRYPTA II
• Encrypta Electronics has appointed ITW Fastex Security Systems as sole UK and European distributor for its Crypta II electronic seal. The Crypta II seal is an alternative to metal or plastic seals used on trucks to provide security against theft. It is already in use with a number of large operators, including M&S, Tesco and Mothercare.
The self-contained Crypta II unit bolts onto the back of a lorry. A metal hasp fixed to the unit is fed through the door handle so the door cannot be opened without removing the hasp. The other end of the hasp fits into the Crypta II where it is held in place by the action of a rotating knob. This causes a four-digit, random number to be generated in the unit which can be displayed by pressing a button. The number retained by the unit until the hasp is removed, which allows drivers to check whether the door has been opened or not.
