Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Portugese bodybuilder Salvador Caetano has introduced a restyled version of its Algarve single-deck coach body. The Algarve 88 is now being offered to UK operators through the British distributor, Salvador Caetano (UK) of Northampton.

The face-lifted 12-metre Algarve 88 has a conventional steel subframe with aluminium exterior panelling, and is available on the Volvo BlOM and Daf MB230 mid-engined chassis, as well as the Daf SB2305 semi-integral rear-engined chassis.

Overall height of the latest model is 3.26 metres, but Salvador Caetano (UK) says that a prototype 3.4m-high version, designated the X-NDH, is being built at the manufacturer's Oporto plant.

Up to 57 seats can be specified. There are two basic models. The touring package has 53 seats with foot and armrests and features the latest restyled front and back panels. An advertising window below the line of the first saloon side windows is also included, along with luggage lockers and a revised heating and ventilation system. An executive version is also available, with double glazing, a demountable toilet, and a centre passenger door.

Prices for the Algarve 88 range from 279,298 for the touring version on the Daf chassis, to 281,500 for the executive-bodied Dd. The executive specification B1OM Algarve 88 costs around 285,000.

Salvador Caetano has already sold nine of the original' batch of 13 Algarve 88s supplied from Oporto, and has more on order. Among the first PSV operators to buy the new models are Atlas Coaches of London and Cochranes (Peterlee).
