MR. E. LORD is chairman of the Carlisle and District Transport Citib for the winter session just started. He will be succeeded in the following two years by MR. I. Florio and MR. B. P. BLACKBURN. The secretary is MR. J. L. STEVENS.

MR. B. F. CAuxr, [waging director of Atkinson Lorries ('1933), Ltd., is visiting Australia, New Zealand and South Africa to study the market for heavy vehicles in those countries. He is expected to arrive back iri England towards the end of December.

MR. E. W. GAIN, senior executive assistant in the office of the new works engineer of London Transport, has been appointed a principal executive assistant. MR, J. E. W. OVERTIME BAN CUTS SERVICES

THE unofficial ban on overtime and rest day working, together with the shortage of road staff, led London Transport to introduce special schedules on Wednesday in respect of 10 central bus routes operating from 12 garages and the country services operating from Amershara and Leatherhead garages. Of L.T.E.'s 114 garages, 96 are now operating the ban.
