Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

If there is a moral to be taken from these tales it has to be: read a current spec sheet before buying a new truck. The ES6 was launched with air cam brakes but only seven months later air wedge brakes had replaced them. ERF had changed a sound, respected component for one that made the truck less reliable; there's no excuse, even if it did save weight. But ERF must have listened because the ECS range is now back on air-cam brakes with wedge brakes as an option with the S153 Mentor axle.

The build quality at the factory has been bought into question and so has the support from some dealers. ERF must ensure improvement on both counts if it expects to survive in the long term, even if more components from fellow MAN can be expected on ERF chassis in the future.
