Bob Reed, heavy commercial vehicles editor for the CAP Red Book, says: 'The ERF ES6 and ES8 lend themselves to a wide range of work including general haulage, skip loader, tipper and tanker applications for the weight-conscious operator.
"The narrow ES steel cab Is often preferred to the wider EC's composite cab for urban operations because it allows easier access to sites and possibly better visibility where the entrance may be narrow.
"Prices for new-generation models start at 118,695 for an ES6 215 tipper registered in 1999. ERF did not sell enough of the ES8 4x2s for CAP to book it—the retail price for an ES8 250 6x4 tipper of the same age is given as £23,000.
