FRENCH CONNECTION • Transport operators who want to improve their French may be interested in an advanced level French language audio tape which is being brought out by Eleven Genesis of St Albans next year.

The tape provides practice at listening to telephone numbers and prices. Each cassette is accompanied by a transcript. Other languages will be covered soon.

TACHO TRAINING • Foster Tachograph Analysis is offering in-company training on tachograph law.

The courses can last for two hours, half a day, a full day or two days. They cost from £150 (ex-VAT), at a time and place to suit the client, says Foster.

MANAGEMENT SANDWICHES • A new Iwo-year/part-lime course on transport and distribution, aimed at junior managers already in the

industry, will start in January at Huddersfield Polytechnic's Centre for Transport.

The final examinations are at the same level as the BTEC and HNC qualifications.

Students will have to spend six hours a week at the polytechnic on Wednesday afternoons/evenings during term time.
