• Gardner engines can now be reconditioned to the latest standards on noise and exhaust emissions. The offer from the Patricroft-based company means that 6LXB, 6LXCT and 6HIACT engines sent for reconditioning can be made more environmentally acceptable than when originally built.
The main changes are to the fuel injection equipment. The timing is retarded, and the injection pressure is increased. Inner city bus operators, often working for sensitive local authorities, are expected to find Garner's offer attractive.
