Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• We believe it important to bring to the attention of your readers a dangerous anomaly that has arisen from the recent ruling from the Ministry to remove the burden of the definition of international journeys from unaccompanied trailers arriving in the UK.

We most definitely applaud the magnificent efforts of all concerned in having this legis

lation lifted, but we wonder the fact has been overlookei that by removing this legislation the trailer no longer h to comply with the ADR Re lations for Dangerous Goods The definition of ADR is ye' clear and once the trailer, which is a vehicle, has land( by our own ruling it is no longer international but national. Therefore, any Uk haulier can pull this trailer without having to comply w ADR.

This situation could lead I unscrupulous hauliers not discharging their responsibil correctly.

We as transport consultai do not have a loud enough voice and would therefore hope that the RHA and the Fel'A could bring this situati to the attention of the appr( priate authorities.
