WHILE agreeing with Janus on the general recognition " which is now being given to the importance of co-operation. I should like to remove any mistaken impression that the initiative came solely from the railways and Dr. Beeching.
The fact is that the possibility of co-operation has never been completely ignored and that the proposal for the tripartite machinery which has now been set up came originally from this Association. We feel that as time goes on its significance will be even greater than at present.
