ANOM ALIES in the law whereby there is virtually no means for obtaining redress for accidents or injuries caused by animals straying on the road are likely to be removed by an Act of Parliament. This was reported to a recent meeting of the standing joint committee of the motoring organizations.

MOBILGAS TERMINAL AT SUNDERLAND

WITH a storage capacity of over mt. VI' gallons, a new terminal for Mobilgas and Mobil Diesel was opened, last week, at Sunderland by the Vacuum Oil Co., Ltd. Three of the storage tanks, each capable of holding 250,000 gallons, have been built on a hemispheroid pattern, and to avoid loss of volatile elements, the contents are held under pressure.

Four vehicles can be loaded simultaneously at the terminal. A new warehouse has been built for lubricants and there is mechanical-handling equipment for dealing with packages.

OILERS FOR SOUTHEND ?

FOLLOWING a proposal by Southend Corporation's transport manager that oil-engined vehicles be introduced to cut operating costs, the central transport committee have agreed than an Austin 3-tonner with a Perkins P.4 engine should be purchased from the Southend Motor and Aero Co., Ltd., to make practical tests.
