Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Backstop works using a rubber sensor strip which is mounted on the rear of the vehicle. The sensor reacts to any slight pressure caused when the vehicle touches a hidden hazard by actuating a switching unit, automatically applying the vehicle's air brake system.

The Type 5 features a separately-mounted brake actuating solenoid valve and a more compact switching unit which allows the use of a shorter sensor tube.

This gives shorter braking reaction times, says Avon, and should operate effectively between —40°C and 40°C.
