• More than 100 drivers have been made redundant from parcels firm Neill Clark (Carriers), which went into receivership East month. The 15-year-old company had a projected 25 million turnover for 1989/1990, but says it has suffered from slack business since last autumn.
The national carrier, based in Barwell, Leicestershire, had a 230-strong staff and 100-vehicle fleet ranging from light vans to tractor units.
