Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I WAS very interested in you' letter headed -The Saga of Olc Faithful" (CM, February 16) at I also have an "old faithful".

It is a 5cwt Ford Anglia var 997cc which to date has co vered 175,730 miles on th( original engine, and apart frorr being a little noisy is still doinE reasonably well. It dates frail June 1962 and was bought a a motor auction at Chelmsforc in January 1968 having beer owned since new by Easter( Electricity Board.

It had at that date a mileagi of 93,313 and an exhaus valve that was on the way out This was put right, and apar from oil changes, plugs, points it has given no trouble since.

It is still very good on petrol around 35mpg, and rather sur prisingly is not heavy on oil. Ii a recent MoT the examiner des cribed it as well above averagi for its year.
