BEN is appealing for more active volunteers to promote its splendid charitable work, particularly on Merseyside, where Southport's former Brunswick Hotel is being converted into a home for the disabled. New centres in Guildford, Aylesbury, Reading and Canterbury would be welcomed.
The late Charles Hartrey, who was the dignified and immensely popular advertisement manager of Commercial Motor until about 1958, was an enthusiastic worker for Ben and enrolled me as a member more than 30 years ago. I can testify to the fund's great service to those in trouble.
Penny Moon, Ben, Lynwood, Su ninghill, Ascot, Berks, invit s help from anyone who can giv it. Money wouldn't come amiss, either.
