• Following agreement with the four objectors in Manchester on Tuesday, Smallshaw Transport Co. of Ashton-underLyne, was granted a new A licence for four vehicles which amalgamates and extends the conditions of three existing vehicles and allows for one additional 7-tonner.

For Smallshaw, Mr. J. A. Backhouse said the following normal user had been agreed for all vehicles: "Marine engines and parts, agricultural tractor parts, rubber, steel, metal fabrications, gas and water works pipes and valves, shop fittings for CWS Ltd.; Lancs., Yorks., Cheshire, Midlands and the London area".
