In Chester on Wednesday, Williams Coaches, of Bethesda, Caernarvonshire, was granted a primary express carriage licence for a service from Swansea for members of the Welsh League of Youth to Glanllyn holiday camp. Bala—which it had been operating for 15 years without a licence.

Mr. P. Kenworthy-Brown, for Williams. explained that before the service was introduced a solicitor had advised them that, since the camp organizers paid the operator, the situation resembled a school contract. However, a traffic consultant had more recently pointed out that the organizers collected individual fares—and this had prompted the present application. Objection had been lodged by Crosville Motor Services Ltd whose traffic manager, said the company had seven services in each direction past the camp from Dolgellau and four on a Saturday from Machynlleththe two picking-up points specified by Williams; but after discussion Williams deleted these and the objection was withdrawn,
