GLASGOW recently took delivery of five Dempster Dinosaur-bodied vehicles on the latest Dodge six-wheel chassis. Each is equipped with three 20-cu.-yd. containers. They are to be used for

loading refuse at the Kelvinhaugh and Polmadie incineration plants and for the reception of the contents of gullyemptiers and roadsweeping machines. Whilst the motive unit takes one fully laden container to the tip the others are placed at convenient points for filling. Rail haulage was formerly used for this work and the change is expected to result in ezonornies amounting to £18,000 per year.

DELIVERIES of Busmar ambulances are now in full swing for the Lancashire County Council contract for 66. Although recent entrants to this market, the Blackpool manufacturer has long experience of coachbuilding and especially of obtaining the best value out of the suspension. The company's reputation has been built up on motorcycle sidecars where, to achieve modern standards of comfort, a great deal of well-controlied springiness has to be confined within strictly limited dimensions.
