Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IS NEW item of greasing equipment –I will be available from Step Industrial iquipment Ltd., Berkhamsted, Hens, t the end of this month. It is the Vanner Mini-Lube and is designed to vercome the disadvantage of a relatively nail lubricant capacity with conventional and-operated grease guns.

The Mini-Lube is hand operated but le supply to it is piped from an attachlent which fits onto any 7 lb. grease container. The grease in the tin is pressurized by depressing a knob on top of the attachment. One depression gives 60 shots at the grease gun and a follower disc ensures that all the grease in the tin is used. The gun supplied with the equipment is a Wanner 315 which gives a pressure in excess of 8,003 p.s.i. at the nozzle.

Net trade price of the lubricator is £10 10s,

Air Leak Detector

AN instrument which enables air leaks to be detected rapidly has been introduced by Sonicaid Ltd., 82 Lampton Road, Hounslow, Middx. Known as the Airescope, it is similar to a doctor's stethoscope and will be useful for locating leaks in exhaust systems, air brake pipelines and units, and tubeless tyre rim seals.

All metal parts of the instrument are chromium-plated brass and thick-wall rubber tubing is used to exclude extraneous noises. Tests quoted by the makers show that at a pressure of 80 mm. of mercury. air escaping through a hole about 0.0005 in. diameter could be detected. In another test the escape of air through a pinhole 0-001 in. diameter in an air cylinder containing a pressure of 3 p.s.i. 'could be heard clearly.

The Airescope costs .£3 15s. and is available with a wide-angle attachment which clips on to the stethoscope end and allows wider areas to be searched— this is also useful for detecting punctures in tyres.
