THE Cheshire bodybuilding company of J. H. Jennings and Sons has been acquired by E.R.F. for about £250,000 cash. Jennings has for some time produced the vast majority of the cabs for E.R.F. lorries.
Jennings will remain a separate entity and will become a subsidiary of E.R.F. Mr. J. H. Jennings and Mr. F. Jennings are retiring from the board due to illhealth, but Mr. D. B. Jennings and -Mr. J. A. Jennings will continue as directors and be joined by Mr. E. Sherratt and Mr. E. P. Foden. Mr. D. B. Jennings has accepted an invitation to a seat on the E.R.F. board.
Jennings' specialist bodybuilding work will continue and may be expanded. Announcing this, Mr. E. P. Foden said the location of both companies at Sandbach would make administrative economies possible but there would be no staff redundancy.
