(Cons., Dorset West) suggested in the Commons last week that there should be a charge for thc cost of police escorts for bulk loads, so •that there could be some discouragement to the increase of loads which led to a tremendous amount of traffic congestion out of all proportion to their size, Mr. John Hay replied that this point had been looked at before and the view had always been taken that it would be an unwise imposition to make.
