r RANTING an A licence for six 'Li vehicles totalling 243 tons unladen, !1d five articulated outfits (14+ tons), to Charles Alexander arid Partners (Transport), .Ltd., Aberdeen, last week, the Scottish Deputy Licensing Authority said that he expected to receive many similar applications from holders of special A licences.
The application was aimed at modernizing and standardizing the fleet. Applicants were prepared to surrender special A licences for nine vehicles (313 tons) and four articulated outfits (7 tons).
British Railways objected.
U.A.S. FARES UP IN YORKSHIRE
THE Yorkshire Traffic Commissioners on Tuesday authorized United Automobile Services, Ltd., to raise bus fares. The Northern Commissioners made a grant two weeks ago.
Bury Town Council have approved the abolition of workers' fares, and plans for a long-term revision of all fares, on their bus services.
Wolverhampton Corporation's application for higher fares is to be heard by the West Midland Traffic Commissioners today.
