Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Nottingham-based Permaquip is launching a road/rail version of the Multicar 4x4.

The Perrnaquip road/rail vehicle uses rail guidance units manufactured by Fairmont Railway Motors of the United States. The units are raised and lowered manually and locked into position when the vehicle is positioned on the track.

On rail, the four road wheels provide drive and braking, and the steering is locked. The vehicle is provided with two lightweight ramps to assist positioning on the track.

Permaquip offers the conversion on all Multicars, including the three-way tipping body. The first conversion has gone to Balfour Beatty Railway Engineering for use on the Docklands light railway in London.
