Iveco Ford says the Cargo 1615 is the best selling 17 tonner in the 140 to 159 horsepower segment, taking almost 40 per cent of sales. This success is due to the Cargo's acceptance at this weight and the proven reliability of the Ford turbocharged 150 engine.
Operating costs, in terms of servicing hours, parts costs and resale value are demonstrably better than the industry average.
The decision as to which gearbox is best can only be decided by individual operators. The six-speed transmission will suit many 'around town' operators whereas operators covering higher mileage may well recoup the extra cost of the eight-speed box.
