MORE THAN 600 hauliers in Sweden enjoy the services of Bilspedition, a forwarding agency which has over 100 clearing houses in Sweden and the 600 haulier members are all shareholders.
The company operates a tariff system for all traffic and in theory every customer pays the same rate per truck. Larger customers however
can obtain discounts of -up to 50 per cent.
A British own-account tractive unit operater Ian Cox Transport from Lincolnshire told CM that while the Swedes got excellent rates their British counterparts on return load traffic were "badly treated". His language was more colourful.
