so successful that it is to be repeated over the weekend of July 13-14 at Brookhouses. It will be backed by
supporting events, such as a dog show and gymkhana.
Roy Tideswell, of Kingsley, was a formidable competitor last year, carrying off two trophies with a 1936 AEC Mammoth Major eight-wheeler and causing a frisson with another AEC Mammoth Major tractor and its original semi-trailer, both at least 50 years old but working perfectly without restoration.
Neil and Margaret Matlock, of Sileby, Leicestershire, showed what could be done in a front garden with an immaculately restored 1950 Sentinel steamer. They have also a Sentinel sixwheeler which steam buffs are agog to see.
Anyone who is not deterred by this kind of competition can get an entry form from R. J. Wormington, 50 Marlow Road, Sandford Hill, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent.
