SYSTEMATIC Micro of Ascot, Berkshire has developed a refined version of its Cool Cat 4000 vehicle body temperature electronic monitoring System.
The unit, which gives a complete record of temperature during a journey is housed on the semi-trailer with its own power supply, and the new system's digital electronics will continue to monitor internal conditions even if separated overnight from the tractive unit.
A simple display unit in the cab gives the driver a constant check on the container temperature and historical information can be printed out at the end of a journey or transmitted to a central computer for analysis.
Humidity and actual product temperatures can be measured as well as the overall air temperature in the trailer and it can be used for direct control of fans or humidifiers.
