gearbox study
RENAULT and Rockwell International have agreed to begin a COTI TI1011 study into the feasibility of developing, manufacturing and marketing gearboxes on a worldwide basis.
Initially the study will look at the existing series of RVI B9 and 1318 heavy duty transmissions as well as their derivatives. It will also consider the joint development of a new range of gearboxes for medium to heavy duty vehicles.
Both companies arc establishing a separate company to build gearboxes. This venture should help to increase the level of production at RVI's Bouthion transmission plant on Prance.
