• Trucks based on Dennis Dominant 15.5 tons gvw four-wheelers and Defiant 22 tons gvw tractive-unit chassis are being produced by KMC Ltd, of Nicosia, Cyprus, together with Chrysler-based models in a variety of categories. KMC /Dennis models have recently been exported to Greece, Libya and the Gulf. And it is anticipated that the current production rate of 30 vehicles a month will have been progressively increased to 10,000 vehicles a year within five years. The range will cover lorries with gvw of 5 tons to 40 tons and psv with a seating capacity of 12 passengers to 60 passengers. The potential markets include Bangladesh, Pakistan, a number of countries in the Middle East and North Africa, Tanzania, Nigeria and Turkey as well as those mentioned.
Turbo option The KMC Dominant and Defiant models are powered by Perkins 6.354 and T6.354 diesels respectively, the T6.354 being optional in the Dominant. Vehicles with the Perkins V8.510 diesel will probably be pro duced later on in addition to smaller vehicles powered by the Perkins 4.236 unit.
