of East Riding Transport Co. (Market Wcighton), Ltd., for four vehicles was imposed by the Yorkshire Licensing Authority last week. The suspension dates from July 18. Key Warehousing and Transport Co.. Ltd., were given a warning.

These steps followed a hearing, reported in The Commercial Motor last week, when the companies were called to give reasons why their licences should not be suspended. The companies had been involved in offences concerning drivers' hours.

The Authority said that the case of the East Riding concern had few redeeming features.

"It is evident to me that by far the greatest control of the business is still in the hands of Mr. C. H. Smith, snr.. and he is not a person who is ignorant of his obligations under the Road and Rail Traffic Act," he observed.

There was no doubt that what was being done was known to the management.

15-CWT. THREE-VV'HFELER WITH 500 CC. ENGINE

V NOWN as the 6oli, a new threeINwheeled van of 15-cwt. capacity has been introduced by Goliath Werke, Bremen. It has a twin-cylindered 500 c.c. water-cooled two-stroke engine developing 17 b.h.p. at 4,800 r.p.m. The fuel-consumption rate is claimed to be 45 m.p.g. and the maximum speed. 45 m.p.h.

There is a four-speed gearbox and the drive is transmitted to the rear axle by a propeller shaft. Body space is 80 Cu. ft. and the price in Germany is £325. A pick-up version is also being produced.

Forty per cent, of all German vehicles of up to I ton capacity are three-wheelers, and 70 per cent, of these are Goliath models.

COLNE BUS STATION PLANS

ASPECIFICATION for a new bus station to be built in Keighley Road, Colne, has been agreed upon by representatives of Burnley, Colne and Nelson Joint Passenger Transport Committee, Ribble Motor Services, Ltd., Keighley-West Yorkshire Road Services. Ltd., and the county police. The station will be a point for the arrival and departure of the services of all three undertakings.

16 DUMPERS FOR PAKISTAN

THE Pakistan Defence Department has ordered 16 Muir-Hill 3-cu.-yd. dumpers from E. Boyden and Co., Ltd.. Old Trafford, Manchester. Several of them will be shipped within 10 days of the placing of the order.

The Pakistan Army is standardizing for new purchases on 3-cu.-yd. and 4-cu.-yd. dumpers of British manufacture.
