CROSSLEY TAKES THE LEAD IN CUTTING PRICES?

'ACCORDING to the "Daily Worker" for Tuesday last, nearly 100 workers are to be dismissed this week by Crossley Motors, Ltd,. on the ground of redundancy. "The Commercial Motor" was, however, unable to obtain further information beyond the company's statement that the report was "a travesty of the facts."

The report also alleged that the management had informed the shop stewards that it wanted a 12-iper cent. cut in piecework prices, as this would help the concern to meet competition more successfully. Fifty men had already received their notices, said the "Daily Worker," and a further 46 were expecting dismissal notices.
