A Part cularly Comfortable Type of Publi,-service Vehicle for Use in North Wales.

A STRIKINGLY handsome and most 1-1_ interesting type of large double deck bus has recently been built by Leyland Motors, Ltd. This vehicle forms one of a number supplied to Messrs. Brookes Bros., of Rhyl, the proprietors Of the White Rose buses. The latest additions to the fleet seat 60 passengers each, the bodies being mounted on standard 4-tan S.G.7 chassis, in which the drivers are seated beside the en gines, so that a capacious body may be

employed on the comparatively moderate wheelbase for such a large vehicle, viz., 16 ft. 6 ins.

The whole of the exterior is painted white, with gold lettering and lining picked out in red. Lifeguards are fitted on the near side and nickel-plated hand rails are situated at both sides of each entrance, there being two of these, one at the rear near side and the other towards the forward end.

The staircase is within the body at the rear end, practically facing the rear entrance, At the foot of the staircase is a conductor's seat of the spring-tip variety, and a tool locker is located below a seat at the left of the rear entrance. The majority of the seats, both on the lower and upper decks, face forwards in pairs, but one seat, stretching the full width of the vehicle and with a squab against the back of the driver's partition, is .provided at the interior of the front end, and two facing seats beside the staircase and rear entrance respectively. On the upper deck there is one seat for three at the side of this staircase and facing forwards, and another seat of the same capacity arranged longitudinally.

On entering by the rear door on the left can be seen a vista of luxurious lounge-like seats upholstered in soft grey leather, whilst, by turning half right, the passenger is oonfronted with the staircase, which is compact but adequate and is provided with a glass-panelled door, which is fitted to exclude any draught while the vehicle is travelling.

The interior appearance -of the vehicle . is almost that of a comfortably arranged house, it being difficult to realize that it is a bus.
