and even with Renault's updates they have stayed pretty static over the past few years. Demand for high-powered trucks, with engines rated above 400hp. is on the increase but the Magnum does not come close to the popularity achieved by the Premium.
This is no surprise —the Magnum's high specification largely disqualifies it as a fleet truck. It is, above all else, a truck that stands out from the crowd and many Magnum operators buy it for just that reason.
All the operators we talked to agreed on the Magnum's virtues.The big, comfortable cab with its unsurpassed living space, a powerful but relatively frugal engine and a solid driveline are all admirable features — but, best of all, they told us, it is totally reliable.
In the used truck market Magnums remain something of a rarity and they attract less interest than some of the other top branded models, but residuals don't appear to suffer as a consequence.
A decade ago Renault's back-up was in disarray but the changes made within the dealer organisation since then have turned things around. No one pretends Renault's set-up is the best.but it's now as good as most and certainly isn't a reason to not buy a Magnum..
